- The Laws in Wales Acts 1535 and 1542, extended English Law into the principality of Wales in the Kingdom of England and provided for Wales to send representatives to parliament under the sovereignty of England.

Although some people argue that the UK was formed in 1707 by the Act of Union between England, Wales and Scotland, but the name United Kingdom wasn't adopted until 1801 when Ireland was brought into the union.
On 1 January 1801, the first day of the 19th century, Great Britain and Ireland joined to form the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. The legislative union of Great Britain and Ireland was brought about by the Act of Union 1800, which created the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland".
6 December 1922, a year after the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty, the territory of Southern Ireland left the UK and became the Irish Free State, now the Republic of Ireland. The UK became The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
