Welcome to the United States Armed Forces Awards page. On this page you will find images for United States military decordations, campaign awards, service awards, training awards, unit awards, and badges. Most of the awards that are likely to be used on a profile are listed here.
You are free to use any of the images for profile decoration and template creation. The first section "Medal Template" shows you how to use any of the images in this page as a medal template to honor an ancestor, relative, or your own profile.

Medal Template
To add a medal to any profile, use the Medal Template. Using the code below, substitute the medal (or any award) name and image file name to produce the template:
this:
- {{Medal
- |image = Military_Medals-118.jpg
- |Medal = Distinguished Service Cross
- }}
will give you this:
There are many similar medals but given to different branches; be sure to select the appropriate branch. U.S. Marines are assigned the U.S. Navy medals and in many cases the Coast Guard were also. If you are improving a profile for a Medal of Honor recipient, please observe that there are different versions of the medal depending on the award period.
Adding medal template details
When adding qualifying detail to a medal such as adding Campaign Stars or Oak Leaf Clusters that represent additional awards of a medal, it is necessary to add a category line to the template. If no category is added the template will attempt to create a new category.
For example, inside the template, the code |Medal=Distinguished Service Cross will add the category for the Distinguisted Service Cross to the profile. If the service member received two Crosses, their awards would reflect that they received the Distinguished Service Cross and one Oak Leaf Cluster. The Oak Leaf Cluster is a device placed on the ribbon portion of the medal and it reprsents a second award of the medal. If the template is coded with this modified medal name, a category will be created, "Distinguished Service Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster."
To avoid this, just add the category with the name of the medal unedited.
Instead of:
- {{Medal
- |image = Military_Medals-118.jpg
- |Medal = Distinguished Service Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster
- }}
you should write:
- {{Medal
- |image = Military_Medals-118.jpg
- |Medal = Distinguished Service Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster
- |Category = Distinguished Service Cross
- }}

Thank you for creating the United States Armed Forces Decorations, Awards, and Badges sticker page. I presume that this is still a work in progress. Which is wonderful. I don't suppose that you have come across the shooting badges for the Army or Marine Corps; Driver/Mechanic Badge, Army Air Assault Badge, Army Aircrewman Badges, Army Parachutist w/ Combat Jumps Badge or the Jump Wings for the Republic of Vietnam. The reason I ask specifically about those badges, is that I have a distant relative Leonard Allen Demaray of my mother's side that also earned those badges, and I was wondering what the image codes were if completed. Thank you again for the super job creating the page.
best regards,
SJ
