Johannes (Breidenbach-172) and Daniel Breidenbach 181 were born in the Schwalm-Eder district of Hesse Cassel. Johannes (B-172) was born in 1770, Daniel (unassigned) in 1782, so it can be hypothesized that they are likely brothers or 1st cousins. They seem to be ancestors of two separate lines of descent in the vicinity of Dayton Ohio. Johannes (B-172) immigrated in 1844 on the ship Elise with his wife Catherine and apparent family members Daniel (Breidenbach-176) born in 1810, his wife and two daughters, and Samuel (Breidenbach-267) born in 1806. In the 1850 census both Daniels mentioned above were next-door neighbors in Butler township, Montgomery County, Ohio. It is hypothesized that Daniel (Breidenbach-176. is the son of either Johannes (Breidenbach-172) or Daniel (unassigned). Their ages at Daniel's (B-176) would be 30 or 28 respectively. Daniel (unassigned) is living with his wife Catherine, Age 45, and two children, Frederick (B-175) age 6 and Margaret (Breidenbaugh-13) age 3.
