History
The Valdosta Plantation was the main home of Governor George Michael McIntosh Troup (1780-1856). It was located on the Milledgeville to Darien Road in Laurens County, Georgia.
It was one of at least five plantations operated by the former Governor of Georgia. The others being Lower Turkey Creek (Vallambrosa), Thomas' Crossroads, Rosemont, Horse Shoe, and the Mitchell Place.

Probate Inventory
The slaves listed on George Troup's probate inventory for the Valdosta Plantation were listed without any ages or genders. One is listed with the initials F. P. after their name and a zero value. This was perhaps a free person? This inventory took place in June 1856.[1]
