DNA CONNECTIONS
I have been investigating the Ancestry DNA matches of my aunt PMcDonald in an attempt to find a connection between them and any of our ancestors.
In looking through the trees of the various DNA matches, certain surnames started to appear more frequently than I would expect, and they were appearing to originate from the same general areas of England. Some lines run back to the same common ancestors, and others are obviously connected to each other but the link is not immediately apparant. This page details the links I have found and others that I suspect would connect if more data was forthcoming.
Derbyshire
This section details the matches which appear to be associated with our Derbyshire ancestors, who have been traced back to Derby, Horsley & Smalley.
Note: With regard to the matches below, Codnor is only 4 miles distance from both Smalley & Horsley, Heanor is even closer.
