39 Wharf Street, built 1874/1875 |
Her Majesty's Customs operated out of 39 Wharf Street for nearly 24 years. Construction began in 1874, and the staff took possession of the space in summer 1875. By the end of 1898 the staff had removed to the new combined post office/customs at the northwest corner of Government and Humboldt streets.
Note: in 1907 Victoria renumbered all addresses, and the building address became 1002 Wharf Street.
