Cussans' History of Hertfordshire states that there is a large tablet in the north chapel of Aldbury Church bearing a long inscription in Latin to Thomas Hyde of Aldbury (5 above), son of Sir Nicholas Hyde, Knt. and Bart., (2 above) and Bridget his wife (3 above), daughter of Michael Sandis of Latimer, Co. Bucks. Thomas, according to Cussans, married Mary, daughter of John Whitchurch; their only daughter, Bridget, was born at North Mymms, Herts., in 1662, as Thomas died in 1665 at the age of 71. His widow Mary later married Sir Robert Vyner. (John Edwin Cussans, History of Hertfordshire: Hundred of Dacorum. London, Chatto & Windus, 1879.
