Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge (German War Graves Commission) maintains German war graves in Europe and North Africa. It is mainly by donations and "looks after more than 830 war gravesites in 46 countries with about 2.8 million war dead. It operates as the only war graves service in the world and extracurricular youth work as well as its own youth exchange and education centers."[1]

It also provides "Graves Search Online", which contains the data of more than 4.8 million war dead,[1] which makes it a great source for WikiTree.

Before being able to search, you need to provide your personal data. They also offer a service of notifying you if the status of a relative changes, like being moved to an official war cemetery etc.

WikiTree BEE supports creating citations from their Graves Search Online.

Category: Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge holds separate categories for some of the cemeteries operated by Volksbund and the profiles of the soldiers buried there.
