THE "BRITISH SOVEREIGN," FROM LONDON.

Thanks to our rising fortunes, we seldom go to press, now a-days, without having to notify arrivals of importance to the colony ; and this week we have a large emigrant ship bringing also a valuable cargo from England. . . , .

The emigrant ship British Sovereign, from London and Plymouth, arrived on Saturday evening, last, after a voyage of ninety-five days from the port of final departure, which she quitted on the 13th April.

The emigrants, who are from the counties of Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, and Cornwall, comprise 38 married couples, 25 single men, 32 single women, and 73 children, making 206 in all. The deaths, including only young children or infants, amounted to seven, and the births were five.

The male passengers include 27 Cornish miners, and a number of agricultural labourers from the midland counties named.

The voyage was a very " harmonious' one, scarcely a single altercation worth naming having occurred during the passage from England to this Province...
