June 17. - Mississippi, ship, 584 tons, P. W. Henrici for Batavia, with part of original cargo from London.
No passengers. Josephs, Langdon and Co., agents.

On a forum described as a Norwegian ship. (On Trove, Dutch ship.) No entry was found for this ship in any of the Lloyd's registers for ships of the time.

The passenger list was notable in that at least 22 members of the same family ; three brothers and a sister, with spouses and children ; all travelled together on this vessel. Mississippi Passengers

They were preceded in their emigration to Australia by Transportee John Haysom, alias Yewers.

In 1834 John (Haysom) Yewers (1816-1879) was convicted of burglary at Southampton Assizes under the name 'John Yewer' and was sentenced to 14 years' transportation to Australia. He arrived in Van Diemen's Land in 1835 on the ship Waterloo.[1] By 1845 he had a conditional pardon. He left Tasmania for Victoria, and in 1849 was granted a confectioner's licence.

When his brother, Henry Haysom (abt.1810-1878) arrived in Australia, he, and all his family branch began using the Yewers surname.

Also on the passenger list of the Mississipi First Page thereof were a John Yewers, 40 with a son John Yewers, 9 who I have been unable to find details of. Again, quite possibly more relatives.

It is also possible there were kinship ties to other passengers.
