- Arrest. — On Tuesday evening, the 24th ultimo, as the ship William Stevenson, bound from this port to London via Callao, was proceeding down the harbour, and when nearing the heads, "Thomas Williams" (master) was arrested by (Mr. Brown) the Sheriff's officer under a warrant amounting to the sum of £500, at the instance of the Surgeon Superintendent. The ship was brought back into " Watson's Bay," and the Captain not finding the required bail, was lodged in the city gaol. On Friday the matter was compromised, and the Captain allowed to proceed with the ship.

- The emigrant ship William Stevenson arrived yesterday, 85 days from Liverpool. The ship was in charge of the chief officer, as her commander was suffering from brain fever. Five deaths and three births occurred during the voyage. The number of persons who arrived was 282.
