Wade Family Mysteries

I have a long standing problem with my ancestor George Edward Fauxcroft Wade. Although he himself has written in a family bible that he was born 23 April 1830, Marylebone London, 30 years of searching has failed to find any record of his birth/baptism. His marriage cert states his father's name as Edward Fauxcroft Wade. Ashcroft is pronounced with the family as Foxcroft.

I have recently seen a baptism record for a George Edward Foxcroft, born 23 April, 1829, Marylebone London, father Edward, mother Elizabeth. I think this is the same George. Perhaps a surname change, for some reason. How do I prove it??
