Link to Part 1 - Tables - Introduction | Link to Part 2 Wikitree Tables
- It is all very well making a nice table in black and white, but within Wikitree we can make them much better looking.
Colo(u)r
- Let's start with a rudimentary table from Part 2
Column A Column B Bananas $1.20 Apples $0.80 Grapefruit $2.00 Strawberries $0.50
- By inserting an extra "phrase" at the beginning we can add a colour. style="background-color:#7cc17c"
Column A Column B Bananas $1.20 Apples $0.80 Grapefruit $2.00 Strawberries $0.50
- In the Edit Text box you will "background-color followed by # and then a code. This odd code 7cc17c is the so-called HEX code for colours. You can choose your own by going to Color Picker. Let's try a light blue, something like C6EBFD. (Note, you can use capital or lower case letters)
Column A Column B Bananas $1.20 Apples $0.80 Grapefruit $2.00 Strawberries $0.50
Aligning
- We can move the whole table to the middle of the page
Column A | Column B |
Bananas | $1.20 |
Apples | $0.80 |
Grapefruit | $2.00 |
Strawberries | $0.50 |
- and we can centre the alignment for each line
Column A | Column B |
Bananas | $1.20 |
Apples | $0.80 |
Grapefruit | $2.00 |
Strawberries | $0.50 |
- you can even do it for one cell, Apples in this case, if for some reason that is what you wanted.
Column A | Column B |
Bananas | $1.20 |
Apples | $0.80 |
Grapefruit | $2.00 |
Strawberries | $0.50 |
- You can put a frame round it if you want, but then you have colorize each row. But this makes it interesting, because you can now alternate rows.
- When you have copied this you can add columns, rows, and change the text. Also the height of each of the rows has been defined as 20 pixels
- On the last Tables Part 4 - Table to copy there will be a table you use with a different format, but you will now be able to understand the elements
