Wales Categories Structure

List of Wales Categories – The Wales categories can be seen at Category: Wales.

Wales Categories Structure (or Explanation) – each Category has its own Category Info Box(known as CIBs). The structure of these has been agreed within the Wales Project Team. We have included a small table under each location to indicate in what administrative districts it has been since 1974.

Hi Categories Team, would someone who is pre-1500 certified be willing to work on the Managed Profile categories for me? In conjunction with the Categories Project I've created a basic category structure for profiles we manage which can be found here: We basically need to add the categories below it to the profiles the project manages. The watchlist for Wales can be found here: Please can you let me know if someone is available to do this? Many thanks! Olivia :-)

Llanrhos is now one word. Merthyr Tydfil is with editBot, should be done very soon. I will keep an eye out and let you know

When updating a place name on someone's profile, wikitree provides a drop down list of possible places. In some cases, the drop down list names do not match new category names. For example, for Llanrhos, Caernofonshire, the drop down list shows Llan Rhos, Caernofonshire. Is there a way to update the drop down list?

The drop-down list is from Family Search. However, Llan Rhos is correct according to which is what we use in the Wales project. I know it is usual to use a single word.

Does that mean there should be a Llan Rhos category in Caernofohshire? Also, has there been any resolution for Merthyr Tudful vs Merthyr Tydfil in the Glamorgan category?
