I am the descendant of what I think are 3 separate Walker families, or at least I have not been able to find a link between them, all being in Virginia Colony prior to 1720. Documentation is difficult in one case with the exception of a very nice tombstone which listed a woman's father and where he was from- but leads go no where. Alexander is the first. He may or may not be a son of Thomas Walker. He is said to have been born in Jamestown abt 1621 and Thomas' name is shown on the muster of 1622. Alexander had a daughter, Elizabeth, b.1658 who married an Edward Johnson, if stories are true but so far, I cannot prove it. Elizabeth m. a Johnson and her daughter, Penelope, m. Christopher Clark. 2. Henry Walker, b. abt 1730, said to be the son of Henry of what is now Gloucester Co (Abdingdon Parish) and apparently at one time was the "mayor" of a town no longer extant, (Bristol) but I have found a deed for the son, Henry, in what is now King & Queen Co but was Essex at the time. His daughter, Ann, is the one with the tombstone that says Ann Dejarnette, daughter of Henry Walker of Exxex Co, b. 1764 d. 1837, wife of George DeJarnette. In the deed, she appears to have had 3 brothers- Thomas, Henry and maybe John. 3. Thomas Walker b. abt 1606 in perhaps Derbyshire England, d. 1654/55 in Northumberland co VA>son Thomas b. bet 1650-1653 Westmoreland Co d.1716 Cople Parish, Westmoreland Co VA m. (not documented} Mary Jefferies and had 12 children> Samuel Walker b.1714 Cople Parish, Westmoreland, d. bef 8 Jun 1788 when will probated in what became Campbell Co VA, m. 3 times- ann Sturman, Ann Hardwick (mine) 1752 and Sarah Rust. I come from Ann Hardwick. She had 5 children with Samuel, but he had a total of 8 known, children. Mine was by Ann Hardwick, a daughter named Elizabeth, b. abt 1658 m. Griffin Lewis in Westmoreland Co in 1791. So I have an interest in both Alexander and Thomas and David Walker of the 1600's and early 1700's.

I feel your pain! I descend from a David Walker. I know for sure his name was David and he was the father of Nancy (m Joseph Maclin), but not much beyond that!

Marriage bonds at Lawrenceville, Brunswick County, Virginia -

Joseph Maclin to Nancy Walker (daughter of David Walker), March 14, 1796.

I've worked on quite a few "David Walker" profiles in the search for "my" David Walker! See some of my conclusions about him & others in the Research Notes and Leads on the Walker-15703... the profile for David, father of Nancy (Walker) Maclin.

I use this archives.com a lot. I found information for Nancy Walker Maclin. Then you can go backward from her dad. I put that link at the top of this but not sure if it will take you straight to her page. You have to sign up on that site, you get a 14 day free trial, but they have a ton of information. I use it like a cross reference/backup.

I use the “connect to me” a lot because it maps out exactly how I connect to others. According to that you are a blood relative to me. It is through one of my great grandfathers, several generations back, sisters.

Hi, I am stuck at John Walker 1828 finding only a little evidence that Reuben Walker and his second wife, Susan Rice were indeed his parents. The dates and locations all fit...he is my paternal great grandfather.
John Rutherford WALKER III was born 17 March 1704 in Wigtown, Scotland, married Ann HOUSTON on 20 March 1733 in Chester County, Pennsylvania and then died on 17 November 1778 in Washington County, Virginia. Is he connected to this group? He's my ancestor.

I have two Walkers, father and daughter, Christopher Walker-19215 and Sussannah Walker-19213 (respectively), that came out of Virginia. I don't know if Christopher was born there (edit: discovered that Christopher was from Lazonby, England), but his daughter definitely was. Sussannah married Christoper Threlkeld-12, where they lived in Brunswick, King George, Virginia prior to 1776.
