Walmer Castle ship, 656 tons old measure and was built 1836 at Blackwall, London by Wigrams and Greene,
Under her Master: Captain Joseph Thorne and Surgeon Superintendant: Dr Neill Waugh, she left left Plymouth on September 12, 1848 carrying 301 Government Emigrants to Port Jackson, New South Wales. Arriving December 30, 1848 after 110 days at sea.
