George William Watson ( 22 April 1904 – 19 August 1975)

I am having great difficulty tracing this Watson line prior to George William Watson. A family bible started from memory ( by my father ) in the 1970's give George's fathers name as "William Elec Watson" and mothers name "Mary" with no maiden name. Verified census forms state his mother and father were both born in Alabama. George was employed by cotton mills in Roanoke, AL and La Grange, GA. Later he was auto and equipment mechanic in AL. He married Frances Bertha Nolen of Randolph Co, AL.

There is little local official data on the early Randolph County residents because of the Courthouse fire in 1896. I am test fitting relationships from Census, Military, Cemetary and Family Bible information as I discover it. ANY help you can provide is welcome.

There is a William Ellic Watson LC8V-JBT from about the same time period in Randolph Co, AL.

There is "Elec Watson" at a Beckham, OK boarding house in the 1910 Census. The birthplace is given as "Alabama" and the occupation given is "fruit tree dealer".

There is "William E. Watson" 1884-1962 married "Mary Bailey" 1889-1983 at Find a Grave, (https://www.findagrave.com : accessed 03 April 2020), memorial page for William E Watson (23 Dec 1884–3 Dec 1962), Find a Grave Memorial no. 63863201, citing Hillcrest Cemetery, East Point, Fulton County, Georgia, USA ; Maintained by Dıehard (contributor 46809256) .
