History

Based on records, There was an empty lot here in 1855. By 1866. there was a building at this location owned by P. Thills, it can not be confirmed if it was the present building.

The 1882 records show the building and saloon went up for sale, and in the 1890's it served as M. Windling's Saloon and Restaurant. The Windling building received a new plate glass front in 1893, and got piped in water service in 1899. It was owned by J.K. Krim at that time.

By 1916 the building was serving as Peter's Drug Store and appeared to have had an addition made to it at the back by 1938. The Drug Store was operated by Mr. Simonson after 1951.

Currently Purely Pets makes it's home at 5 West Main.
