General Information
- English: West Pomeranian Voivodeship is a voivodeship in north-west Poland on the Odra and at the shore of the Baltic Sea, with the capital Szczecin.

The name Pomerania comes from the Slavic po more, meaning Land by the Sea.
West Pomeranian Voivodeship or West Pomeranian Province is in northwestern Poland.

Historical Timeline
- 1772 - 1945 = Prussia (Preussen), German Empire.
- 1945 - 1950 = Szczecin Voivodeship was an administrative unit of Poland created after World War II from the Prussian-German province of Pomerania.
- 1950 = It was divided into the Szczecin Voivodeship and Koszalin Voivodeship.
- 1999 - Present Day = It was established on 1 January 1999, out of the former Szczecin and Koszalin Voivodeships and parts of Gorzów, Piła and Słupsk Voivodeships, pursuant to the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998.
