In 1839 Thomas Smith was recorded as occupying one parcel of land described as schoolhouse and yard (plot 332) which was 24 perches in statute measure.[2]

George Fairbanks (1807-1887) was recorded on the 1841, 1851, and 1861 censuses as schoolmaster in Whitmore. In 1871 he was age 63 and a Farmer of 116 acres at Bromley Green (Farm), Whitmore.
In the 1842 Pigot's Directory, page 33, two schools for Whitmore were listed:
- Endowed School: George Fairbanks, master
- School of Industry: Sarah Smith
Birmingham, Staffordshire & Worcestershire, Kelly's Directory, 1850 lists two teachers:
- Fairbanks George: academy, registrar of births &c. for the Whitmore district, & post office
- Smith Mrs Sarah: ladies' school
Staffordshire 1851 White's Directory indicates two schools:
- Fairbanks George: schoolmaster, registrar, and parish clerk, post office
- Smith Thomas: shoemaker and Sar. school (Thomas Smith was the husband of Sarah Smith)
George Till (1840-1906) succeeded George fairbanks as schoolmaster at Whitmore.
In 1879 George Till, schoolmaster at Whitmore, and George Fairbanks, former schoolmaster gave character references for Gerald Mainwaring (1855-) who was on trial for murder.[3]
In the Kelly's Directory of 1880 Miss Sophia Agnes Wheatley was school mistress of the National School.[4]
Sophia Agnes Wheatley (1857-abt.1933) was recorded on the 1881 census at Whitmore as schoolmistress.
