Wilberforce is an unincorporated community and Census Designated Place (CDP) in Greene County, Ohio. It was named for William Wilberforce, the abolitionist who ended the slave trade in the British Empire. This small community had 7 stations for the Underground Railroad making it an important stop before the Civil War.
Wilberforce is home to Wilberforce University, the African American liberal arts college and the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center.
