Will

In the name of God, Amen. The seaventh day of July
1676 in ye eight & twenteth yeare of his Majestys
raigne. I John Midwinter of ye parish of Essington
in the County of Gloucester being sick & weak
in body, but of sound & perfect memory (praise
be given to God for the same) & knowing the
uncertainty of this life on earth, & being desirous
to setle things in order, do make this my last
will & testament in manner & form folowing:
That is to say, first & principally I comend my Soul
to Almighty God my Creatour, assuredly beleiveing
that I shall receive full pardon & free remission
of all my sins, & be saved by the precious de?
& merits of my blessed saviour Christ Jesus, &
my body to the earth from whence it was taken
to be buried in such decent manner as to my executor
hereafter named shall be thaught meet & conven
=ient. And as touching such wordly estate as the
Lord in mercy hath lent me, my will & meaning is
the same shall be employed & bestowed, as hereafter
by this my will is & pressed. & first I doe
revoke, renounce frustrate & make void all wills
by me formerly made & declared & appoint this
my last will & testament

Imprimis I give & bequeath to my Daughter Jone
Midwinter
one hundred pounds to be paid unto
the said Jone when she shall attaine to ye age of
two & twenty years of age
Item I give & bequeath to my Daughter Susanna
Midwinter
ye sum of one hundred pounds to be paid unto
the said Susanna Midwinter at the age of one &
twenty years of
Item to my daughter Mary the sum of one
hundred pounds to be paid unto the said Mary

Midwinter at the age of one & twenty years.
Item my will & pleasure is yt if any of my said
daughters should dye (vid) Jone, Susanna & Mary
or either of them yt then ye survivor or survivors
shall have ye said portions or portion equally
divided amongst them, or either of them.
Item my will & pleasure is yt my daughter Jone
shall have one bed with the appurtenances.
Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Susanna
Midwinter
one bed with the appurtenances.
Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Mary Midwinter
with the appurtenances one bed with the appurtenances.
Item I give unto my wife Susanna Midwinter the
thirds of my temperall estate during her naturall
life & then to returne to my son & heir
William Midwinter.
Item I demise give & bequeath unto my wife
Susanna Midwinter that estate which was bought
of John Miller of Hampnet situate in Essington
so longe as she continues a widdow.
Item I doe oblige & engage my Son & heir William
Midwinter
to pay & discharge all the said legacies
according to the tenour of this my will.
Item I give & bequeath to my said son & heir
William Midwinter for the paiment of the said
legacies all my personall estate, except
before excepted (vid) all my cropp of Corn
now upon my estate, all my flocke of sheepe
horses, beasts, pigs, wooll, moneys & all my
household stuffe except before excepted, And I
doe here-by make constitute ordaine &
appoint my said son & heir William Midwinter
sole executor of this my last will &
testament.
Item I doe oblige my Son & heir William

Midwinter
to mentaine & provide for sufficient
maintenances for ye said Susanna & Mary Midwinter
untell they shall come to the age of one & twenty.
Item my will & pleasure is yt my said daughters Susanna
& Mary shall be dutifull & servicable unto my
said son & heir & executor William Midwinter
& shall contribute towards theire end maintenance
as much as in them lyeth by their service to
their said brother William Midwinter.
Item I give & bequeath to my wife Susanna Midwinter
one bed with ye appurtenances,
