I Dame Jane Biddulph Widow of the parish of all Saints
Infra in the County of Southampton Give @ bequeath my Effects @
in manner following To my Son Sir Theophilus Biddulph Bart one
hundred Pounds To my Grandson Theophilus Biddulph son of
the above named Sir Theophilus Biddulph Bart all my Diamonds
@ the large Saphire which I desire may not be parted with but
always continue in the ffamily as an Ornament first to his Wife @
afterwards to the Wife of the Head of the ffamily for the time being
to my said Grandson Theos Biddulph I give One hundred Pounds
to newset the above named Jewels To my daughter Elizabeth
Biddulph I give two hundred Pounds and all the Grated ffenders
@ ffire Irons belonging to the house I now Inhabit To my daughter
Charlotte Mabella Biddulph Ten Guineas for Mourning To my Son
John Biddulph two hundred Pounds To my daughter in Law Sophia
Biddulph wife of my Son John Biddulph Twenty Pounds To my Son
William Biddulph two hundred Pounds To my Cousin Mary Stillingfleet
twenty Pounds To my old ffriend and relation Mrs Jane Taylor twenty
Poumds To my Servant Elizabeth Cleaver if she continues with me to
the time of my death Twenty Pounds @ all my wearing apparel my
daughter Susanna Biddulph I appoint my Sole Executrix and
Residuary Legatee In witness whereof I set my hand and Seal this

Memorandum The Jewels mentioned in my will as
Intended for my Grandson Theophilus Biddulph are Earings Broach
four small roses two of them now used as Clasps a Pin all of Diamonds the
Saphire the Topas a small Broach of Rubies all Pearls Jewels @ Trinkets
of every kind except those above mentioned I give to my Daughter
Susanna Biddulph // J Biddulph //
If George Townsend continues in my Service to the time of my death
I desire my Executrix to give him twenty Pounds over @ above all wages
due to him // J Biddulph //
I desire my daughter Susan will keep my Grebe Tippet for her own
use @ wear it for my Sake // J Biddulph //
Affidavit
Appeared Personally Anna Maria Wilson of the Town and County
of the Town of Southampton Spinster and Jane Wilson of the same
place Spinster and made Oath that they knew and were well acquainted
with Dame Jane Biddulph late of the ward of all Saints infra in the<br ?
parish of All Saints in Southampton aforesaid widow deceased for
some years before and down to the time of her death which happened
on or about the fourteenth day of August last and also with her manner
and Character of handwriting and subscription having frequently seen
her write and also write and subscribe her name and having now with
Care and attention viewed and perused the papers writing hereto annexed
purporting to be and contain the last will and Testament with three
Codicils annexed of the said Dame Jane Biddulph widow of the Parish
of all Saints Infra in the County of Southampton give @ bequeath
my Effects in manner following" endimg thus "In witness whereof I
set my hand and Seal this nineteenth day of June One thousand eught
hundred and two" and thus subscribed "J, Biddulph" the first of the
said Codicils being contained in the follwoing words "Memorandum
The Jewels mentioned in my will as intended for my Grandson
Theophilus Biddulph are Earings Broach four small roses two
of them now used as Clasps a pin all of Diamonds the Saphire
the Topas a small Broach of Rubies all Pearls Jewels & Trinkets
of every kind except those above mentioned I give to my daughter
[[Biddulph-343|Susanna Biddulph]" and subscribed "J Biddulph" the second of the said
Codicils in the following words "If George Townsend continues in my
Service to the time of my death I desire my Executrixto give him twenty
Pounds over and above all wages due to him" and subscribed ["]J Biddulph"
and the last of the said Codicils being contained in the following words
"I desire my daughter Susan will keep my Grebe Tippet for her own
use @ wear it for my Sake["] and subscribed "J Biddulph" they these
Deponents say they so verily and in their Consciences believe the all
whole body series and Contents of the said will and Codicils beginning
and ending as aforesaid and the subscriptions thereto to be all of the proper
handwriting and subscription of the said Dame Jane Biddulph widow
deceased and the said deponent Jane Wilson for herself further made
Oath that shortly after the said deceased's death Mr Peter Bernard
in Company with Mr John Butler Harrison delivered into the hands
of her the said deponent Jane Wilson a paper parcel sealed up with
wax and directed to Mrs Susanna Biddulph Southampton "and the
said Mr Bernard then i[n]formed her that the said Dame Jane Biddulph
deceased desired the said Paper Parcel should be delivered to Miss
Susanna Biddulph the daughter of the said deceased immediately
after her death and that she the said deponent Janes Wilson did
accordingly deliver the same to the said Miss Susanna Biddulph
And both the said deponents further made Oath that the said Miss
Susanna Biddulph immediately after the said paper parcel was
so delivered to her as aforesaid proceeded to open the same in the
presence of those deponents and they found therein contained the last
will and Testament of the said deceased bearing date as aforesaid
and two slips of paper fastened with papers on the Cover that enclosed
the will and which these deponents then discovered to be and Contain
three Codicils to the said will and without date and they lastly made
Oath that having again perused the papers writing purporting to be
and contain the last will and Testament with three Codicils of the said
dame Jane Biddulph widow deceased they said that the same are in
the exact plight and Condition as when opened by the said Miss Susanna
Biddulph as aforesaid // Anna Maria Wilson // Jane Wilson // On the
Twenty seventh day of October 1818 the said Anna Maria Wilson and
Jane Wilson Spinster were duly sworn to the truth of this Affidavit
by virtue of the annessed Commission Before <i>Thos Briears

Probate
Proved at London with 3 Codicils 31st Octr 1818 before the Judge
by the Oath of Susanna Biddulph Spinster the daughter the Sole
Executrix to whom Adm[inistrati]on was granted being first sworn by Comon
duly to Adm[iniste]r //
