Transcription of the Will and Inventory of Robert Greenfield who passed away in Chetwynd, Shropshire in July 1679

In the Name of God Amen I Robert Greenfield of Chetin Heath in
the County of Salop beinge aged and weake in body but sound & p[er]fect in Mind and
Memory (praised be God for it) knowinge the Certainty of death and the Uncertainty of
the ..ne thereof & that it is a Christian duty to sett his house in order ??? ordaine &
Make my Last will and testam[en]t in Manner & forme followinge & first & above all things
I Comitt and Comend my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God my ????? Trustinge for
Salvation through his Mercy and the Meritts of my Redeem[e]r Jesus Christ & for my
Body I Comitt it to his Earth to be decently interred at the discretion and ovrsight of
my Execut[o]rs hereafter Named and for my worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased you
to bless me I distribute and dispose of them as followeth -----------------------------
Impt I give and bequeath unto John Cradock my Son in Law one old Black Cow and Calfe
Now in his possession which he bought of me at fifty shillings price whereof he hath
paid me twenty shillings & the other thirty shillings I forgive him------------------------
It: I give and bequeath unto my Son Robert one Pied Cow: & to my Son Thomas one
Bay Mare, & to my Son Edward one ???????? heifer --------------------------------
It: give unto my Son Richard one yeare old heifer & a Longe Coffer Now Standing
in my Midle Chamber ----------------------------------------------------------
It: My debts and funerall expences beinge first paid and discharged all the rest and
residue of my houshold goods Cattells Chattells Corne on the ground and in the house I
give and bequeath unto my Son: Edward Greenfield and to my Son in Law John Cradock
and doe ordaine Make and appoint them the said Edward my Son and John Cradock my
Son in Law the Joynt Execut[or]s of this my Last will and Testam[en]t & doe hereby revoke
Mak frustrate Null and Void all former and other wills whensoever by me Made I
doe declare this to be my Last will. In wittness whereof I have hereunto putt
my hand and Seale the second day of July Anno: D[omi]n[i] 1679.
