State of North Carolina

Macon County 

January the 6th 1890

I Able Buckner of the county of Macon and state of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and publish this my last will and testament in [illegible] that is to say:

Item. That my executor (herein after named shall provide for my body a decent burial; suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts; whosoever and to whomever [illegible] owing [illegible] of the money that may first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate.

Item. I give and devise to my beloved wife Elizabeth all the rents and proceeds of all my lands during her natural life and also all my perishable property household and kitchen furniture during her natural life and forever to control such to her benefit.

Item (1) I give and devise to my eldest daughter Sarah An Davis and D.O. Davis her husband all the home tracts of land; on which we now live on my death; which I will survey and deed to them and to their heirs as their part of my estate.

Item. I have given my second daughter Susey Emeline Duvall and Joseph Duval all that I intend them to have of my real estate.

Item. I give and devise to my son W.T. Buckner all the land that I now own in Swain County in North Carolina [illegible ] in fee; to him and his heirs for ever; as his and their portion of my real estate.

Item. I give and devise to my daughter Amanda Elizabeth Wilson and her bodily heirs; a tracts of land known as the Saldee gap tracts; situated near the Saldee gap above the home land as their portion of my real estate to run with a ridge dividing the two coves running to McCay's line for compliments.

Item. I give and devise to my daughter Margaret Lucindy Downs and her bodily heirs a tract of land situated in the Green Davis cove and to extend each so as to include a portion of the lower fields, and to run with the McSanders[?] to the ridge that divides the Green Davis Cove and the Salders Gap Cove to McCays line as their portion of my real estate.

Item Whereunto we have [illegible] our land and affixed our seals, the day and date above written in presence of
