- In the name of God Amen I Annever Farr of Hinton St Mary in the County of Dorsett widow being of sound and perfect mind and memory (thanks be to all mighty God for the same) But calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory life doe make publish and declare this my last will & testament in Manner & forme following that is to say
- First and principally I commit my soule unto the hands of Almighty God my creator in whome and by the merrits of Jesus Christ my Saviour & Redemer I trust & believe to obtaine remision of my Sins and to inheritt eternal life and my body to the earth to be decently buried by and att the discrecion of my executor here after named and for the disposing of such temporall estate which it hath pleased God of his Goodness to Bless me with I doe order give and dispose of the same in manner & forme followinge that is to say
- Imprimis I give devise and bequeath unto Mary Yeatman daughter of my son in law Morgan Yeatman All that my freehold messuage or Burgage within the Burrough of Shaston in the said County of Dorsett with all & singuler its appur’tances (which my father purchased of John Bram & Ann his wife & now in the possession of Joseph Waer) to hold the same to her the said Mary Yeatman to her & her heires and assignes for ever.
- And as I have lately surrendered to the use of my son in Law Morgan Yeatman and his heires certaine customary lands (being coppyhold of Inheritance of the manor of Gillingham in the said County of Dorsett, I do hereby ratify confirm give & devise the said Customary lands with their & every of their appurt’ences to him the said Morgan Yeatman and his Heires and assignes for ever.
- Item I give to Harry Farr Yeatman my diamond Ring and fifty pounds to be paid when he comes to the age of Twentyone
- Item I give to Mary Yeatman daughter of Morgan Yeatman my gold chain
- Item I give all my plate to be equally divided between Harry Farr Yeatman Mary Yeatman Morgan Yeatman sons & daughter of Morgan Yeatman
- Item I give to Ann Yeatman daughter of John Yeatman [ ] One hundred pounds to be paid five pound a year our of my estate in Gillingham untill the hundred pounds is paid, if the said Ann Yeatman lives so long
- Item I give to my cousin Jean Forde my black silk night gowne & my dark gray night gowne & one flowerd silk quilted peticoat one dozen of Aprons ten white hankercheifs one dozen shifts one peece of lace of a dozen yeards two suites of headcloaths.
- All the rest of my wareing Apparel I give to Mary Yeatman daughter of Morgan Yeatman.
- Item all the rest residue & remainder of my Goods chattles Household stuffe and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever (my debts & funerall Expences being first paid and discharged) I give and bequeath unto my son in lawe Morgan Yeatman whome I doe hereby make and declare and appoint and sole Executor of this my last will and testament, In Witness wherof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale and Published and declared this to be my last will and testament this fourteenth day of July and in the year of Our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven hundred and forty Annever Farr (signature)
- Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Annever Farr to be her las’ will and Testament In the presence of us Thomas Gull, the mark of John Langly, the mark of Edith Willcons
- 29th day of November 1740.The above written will of Annever Farr late of Hinton St Mary in the County and Archdeaconry of Dorset widow deceased was proved by Morgan Yeatman the sole executor therein named to whom Administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased was granted he being first sworn upon the Holy Evangelists well and faithfully to administer the same, to make a [ ] and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said goods chatells and credits and exhibit the same into the registry of the Archdeacon of Dorset and to pay a true and just account thereon when thereto lawfully required
