I Dudly Peebles of the county of Meriwether and
State of Georgia being feeble in body but of sound mind and
disposing memory do hereby proceed to dispose of my worldly effects
in the following manner (to wit)
Item first I wish all my just debts to be paid by my
executrix herein after named out of my money I may leave and
from the sale of any of the negroes or other property my Executrix may
choose to sell for that purpose.
Item Second. I have already given my daughter Jane a negro
woman Minerva and her children. I also give her one cow and calf
Item Third I give my son James H. A. Peebles Six hundred
dollars to be paid to him in the years from the Christmas after
my death.
Item Fourth I give my daughter Susan Clara one half
of the negroes which may be left after all my debts are paid
and the legacy to my son James H. A.
Item Fifth I give to my wife Lucy Y. Peebles everything of
which I may die professed both real & personal, I.E. And lots
of land on which I reside, all my stock of horses, cows and hogs
all my plantation utensils, crops of every kind on hand or growing,
also one half of my negroes that may remain after paying my
debts. This item is intended to include everything k[n]own at the
time of my death except what I have willed a[l]ready in the items
above. I also give my wife my land warrant for (120) one hundred
and twenty acres of land, and one I expect to get for (40) forty
acres - all in this first item I give her in the simple.
Item Sixth I constitute & appoint my beloved wife Lucy
Y Executrix to this my last will and Testament this
28th January 1857.

the same be committed to record
