This is a transcription of the register office copy of the will of Edward Antill ,of Warnham in Sussex. It was written on 1 December 1666 and proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury on 29 January 1666/7

In the name of God Amen I
Edward Antill of Warnham in the County of Sussex gent beeing
sicke and weake but bleeseed be god of good and perfect memory Doe
make this my last will and testament in manner and forme
following THat is to say I will and bequeath and hereby devise unto
Edward Antill my nephew sonne of James Antill of Chissington
in the County of Surrey my brother all and every my messuage
barnes and all other buildings and alsoe all my lands farmes and
hereditaments whatsoever called Longhurst Saxons and Finches
situate and being in Horsham and Warnham in the said County
of Sussex or use of them with the appurtenances to have and
to hold to him the said Edward Antill his heires and assignes for=
ever Upon this condicon nevertheless That the said Edward Antill
his heires executors administartors and assignes shall out of the said
lands and the goods hereafter bequeathed him pay or cause to bee
paid all and every my debts of what nature or kind soever And
alsoe all such Legacies as hereinafter in and by this my will is expres
sed and bequeathed That is to say

I will and bequeath unto Elizabeth
my now wife the somme of seaventeen pounds by the yeare to
bee yearely paid unto her out of the issues and profitts of my said
lands before bequeathed to be paid to her every quarter at fower pounds
five shillings the quarter from the day of my death for and during
her naturall life Provided she clayme not more or sue for any
more or other allowance or settlement by vertue of anyTytle of Thirds
Dower or any other or former settlement or writing whatsoever

I alsoe doe hereby further give and bequeath unto my said wife my
featherbed and stedle Curtaines and vallens and all things thereunto
belonging as it now standeth in the hall chamber and alsoe .....
paire of Two sheets one paire of pillow coates halfe a douzen of flaxrn
Napkins and one wicker chaire

Item I give untoJohn Antill my
nephew sonne of John Antill my brother and hundred and fiftie pounds
to be paid to him within one yeare after my decease

. Alsoe I give unto
Hannah Antill and Edward Antill my said brother Johns children
five and twenty pounds a peece to be paid them at their severall
ages of one and twenty years or dayes of their marriage w[hic]h
shall first happen

Also I give and bequeath unto James Antill
my nephew the sonne of James Antill my brother fiftie pounds
to be paid to him at his age of one and twenty yeares

Item I give to
William Peeter my servant forty shillings to be paid to him on six
monthley after my decease

Alsoe I give to James Spurling my
Apprentice forty shillings to be paid him at his age of one and
Twenty yeares

Alsoe I give unto Elizabeth Patching my maid ser
vant forty shillings to be paid her within three monthly after my
decease

Alsoe I give unto Sir Henry Onslow and Jane
his wife, To Mr Thomas Onslow his brother To Anthony Hilton
Alice his wife, To John Rayley and Richard Wilfold and to every
one of them the somme of Twenty shillings to buy each of them a ring
To wear in my remembrance To be paid to every one of them three
monthly after my decaese

All and every the rest and residue
of all my goods Cattells Chattels curtains doores and without And
not before herein and hereby bequested All my debts being paid
first

Paid and Legacies Discharged I do give and bequeath unto the said Ed
ward Antill my nephew the sonne of James Antill ....... I make
sole Executor of this my will revoking all former and other wills
and Testamoney whereof .... this my will I have hereunto sett my hand
and seale this first day of December in the eighteenth yeare of King
Charles the second and in the yeare of our Lord Christ one thousand
six hundred sixty six
