Transcript
In the name of God amen I Edward Evans of Bache in the Parish of Llangollen
County of Denbigh Gent being Aged, but (thank God) in perfect health & of sound mind & memory, Do make & ordain
This my last Will & Testament in manner & form following. That is to say first of all I will that all my debts be first paid
and that my Executrix, hereafter named, shall bury me in a decent Xian like manner And touching such Temporal Estate it hath
pleased Gpd to bestow upon me I give devise & bequeath the same in the following manner Item I give devise and bequeath to my
daughter Anne Evans all those my Messuages Lands Tenements situate & lying in the several Townships of Bache & Vivod in the Parish and
County aforsd (subject nevertheless to the payment of the several & respective debts & legacies hereafter specified) To have & to hold the
said Messuages Lands and Tenemants to my sd daughter Anne Evans for and during the term of her natural life : And from & after
her decease I give devise & bequeath the said Messuages Lands & Tenements with appurtenaces to my Grandson John Evans son
to Edward Evans by my daughter Anne To have & to hold to him said John Evans and his heirs forever but still liable to the
payment of such debts & legacies as shall be hereafter mentioned and bequeathed. Item I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter
Martha Evans the summ of Sixty pounds of lawfull money, which sum I will that it shall be chargeable upon and Issue out of
my said Lands & Tenements in Bache & Vivod: Item I give and bequeath to my Grandson Edward son of William Wynne of
Vivod by my daughter Jane the summ of forty pounds of lawfull money to be paid out of & chargeable upon the said Lands Tenements
in Bache & Vivod Item I give devise & bequeath to my said Grandson Edward Wynne the Rents and Profitts together with the setting
and letting of two fields or parcells belonging to my Tenement in Vivod (called & known by the names of Maes: y: fran and
Eris’r-ffordd now in the holding of his father William Wynne) To have & to hold set & let & to receive the Rents Issues & Profitts
of the said said two parcells to him the said Edward Wynne for and towards the maintaining bringing up and educating of him at some
private or publick School: and from and after the perfecting & cpmpleating of my said Grandson’s Education and when he has
attained to the age of Eighteen my Will and meaning is And I do hereby give & devise the said two Parcels called Maesyfran
and Erisreffordd to my grandson John Evans & to his heirs forever: Item I give & bequeath to my sd Grandson Edward Wynne one
Wain with the yoke & appurtenances. Item I give and bequeath all my Gears or implements of husbandry to my Grandson
Edward Wynne & my Granddaughter Martha Evans to be divided between them share & share alike Item I give and bequeath to
my Granddaughter Martha Evans one half or moiety of all my household goods & furniture Item I give and bequeath to my daughter
Sarah Edwards of Eslwyseagle the summ of one pound & one shilling of lawfull money Item I give and bequeath to her children by Edward
Edwards the summ of five shillings each: And my Will and meaning is that my brother Evan Evans of Bache aforsd be and shall
stand seised and possessed of all and singular my Lands and Tenements in Bache and Vivod […]
Legacies and devises are paid and discharged: And do hereby nominate & appoint the said Evan Evans and heirs […] in Trust
to take care and see that all and singular the clauses and Bequests herein contained & specified be fulfilled and executed according
to my true intent and meaning: All the rest and residue of my personal estate goods cattle and chattels I give and bequeath to my
said daughter Anne Evans. whom I likewise nominate constitute and appoint sole Executor of this my last Will and
Testament hereby revoking and disannulling all former Wills by me made, ratifying & confirming this to be my last. In witness
wheroff I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of December in the year of our Lord God one thousand
seven hundred and forty four
