This is a transcription of the register copy of the will of Ellinor Christian als Quayle, the widow of Captain Patrick Christian of Jurby and Ballinaquayle. Ellinor had her will drawn up on an unspecified date before her death on 23 July 1699. Her will was proved in the Episcopal Court of Sodor and Man on 2 August 1699. All the claims and aquittals related to the estate have also been transcribed. [1]

Lastly She nominated and apointed her son Jon Christian to be

on him By the Right Reverend Lord Ripp[on]: and
therein ordered upon the s[ai]d procklers [3] to pay which
bill of iil with twenty shillings before p[ai]d by my
above s[ai]d Brother to my Brother in law Willm. Flexney
of the towne of Duglas therefore upon the accept
=ing of the above bill and the twenty shillings
already p[ai]d as afores[ai]d I doe here by aquitt and
discharge him my above s[ai]d Brother John
Christian his heirs or assignes from any part or
parcell of the Twelve pounds Legacie Left mee
