This is a transcript of the will of Evan Edwards, gent, of Glynvechan in the parish of Llansantffraid Glyn Ceiriog, Denbighshire, Wales. His will was dated 3 January 1722/3 and was proved on 27 October 1725.

Transcript

In the name of God Amen I Evan Edwards of
Glynvechan in the County of Denbigh gent being aged
and mindfull of the uncertainty of this life and that all flesh
must submitt to death and desireouse whilst I am in health
and of sound and perfect mind and memory to settle my
Estate the which it hath pleased God to bless me
withall doe the day of the date hereof made this my last
Will and Testament in manner following First and
principally I comend my soul to God that gave it hopeing
through the meritoriouse death of my Saviour Christ to
obtaine pardon and remission of all my sins and my body
I comitt to the Earth to be decently interred att the discreation of
my Executor hereafter named And as touching such reall and
p[er]sonall Estate as I am att p[re]sent seized and poss[ess]ed of I devise give
bequeath and dispose the same as followeth Impris I give and
devise all my messuages lands and Tenements with theire
Appurten[an]ces whereof I am seized of in Fee or in Fee Taile
to my eldest son and heire Edward Evans and his heires To
Have and to hold to my son Edward Evans his heires and
Assignes for ever he paying the sume of Ten pounds to
my daughter Rebecka within one yeare next ensueing the day
of my decease Alsoe I further give to my said son Edward all my
houshold Goods and all my Implements of husbandry together
withall my graine of Corne in the house barne and Fields
Item I give and bequeath to my son Richard Evans the sume of
Five shillings And whereas my son Richard Evans stands indebted
to me by bill in sume of Fifty pounds I doe give and
dispose of the said Fifty pounds as followeth I give and bequeath
the use and interest thereof to my said daughter Rebecka for
and dureing the terme of her naturall life and from and
after he decease I give and bequeath the said Fifty pounds
to her Children to be divided amongst them share and share
alike All the rest and residue of my personall Estate of what nature
or kind soever they be I give and bequeath to my son John Evans and
doe hereby nominate appoint my said son John Evans sole
Executor of this my Will revokeing all other Will by me heretofore
made and this to be my last Will In Wittnesse whereof I have hereunto
[p]utt my hand and seale the third day of January Anno dni 1722
