Transcript

In the Name of God, Amen. I Geo. Batman of the Parish of Bitton in the County of Gloucester being mindfull of my mortallity do make & Publish this my last Will and Testament in manner Following ;

First I give and Devise unto my Wife Martha Batman all that Messuage or Tenemt. with the Land adjoining Situate in the Hamlet of Oldland in the Aforesaid Parish of Bitton with all my Stock Cattle Implements of Husbandry Dayry Utinsels Furniture &c. During the Term of her Natural Life, After her Decease to be Equally Divided between Pheabe, Sarah, Martha & Ratchel Batman Daughters of me Geo. Batman by paying out of the Above a Legacy to Hannah Lee Daughr. of me Geo. Batman the Sum of Thirty pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittain ;

Also to Harriat Prigg Daugter as aforesaid the Sum of Twenty pounds, but if the Said Harriat Prigg & her Daughter Harriat should Happen to Dye before the aforesaid Martha Batmn. the Aforesaid Twenty pounds to be equally Divided between Pheabe and Sarah Batman Share & Share alike

Also I give to my Daughter Miraculas Lewis the Sum of One Shilling

All the Rest and Residue of my Personal Estate whatsoever & wheresoever & what nature kind & Quality sover the Same May be & not before Given & Disposed of After Paymt. of Debts & Funeral Exps. I do hereby give unto my Wife Martha Batman for and During the Term of her Natural life,

Lastly I Constitute and Appoint my Son Geo. Batman with Pheabe Batman my Daughter to be Excr. & Executrix of this My last will & Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this 9th. Day of June One Thousand Eight Hundred and Six

Signed Sealed Published & Declared by the Testtator as & for his last Will and Testament who at his request in His presence and in the presence of us who have subscribed our Names hereunto
