This is the last Will and Testament of me George Cater of
Blaby in the County of Leicester Labourer who am now in good Health
of Body and of sound Mind Memory and Understanding / Praised
be God for the same I give and devise to my Son John Cater and
his Heirs All that my Messuage Cottage or Tenement with the
Garden lying next to Elizabeth Botterill's House / divided from the
Garden belonging to the Messuage Cottage or Tenement wherein
I dwell by a Quick Hedge / and other Appurtenances thereto
belonging situate standing and being in Blaby aforesaid and
now in the Occupation of my said Son And I hereby will and
direct my said Son John Cater immediately after my Decease
to make a Door or Entrance into the Town Street of Blaby aforesaid
from the Messuage Cottage or Tenement I have hereby devised to
him in order that he may not intrude or come upon any Part of
the Hereditaments I shall herein after devise to my son George
Cater I give to my Daughters Mary Ann and Alice respectively
a Right and Liberty to dwell in the Messuage Cottage or
Tenement wherein I now dwell and which I shall hereinafter
devise to my Son George so long as they shall respectively
remain unmarried And subject to such Right and Liberty
and also subject to the Payment of Five Pounds hereinafter
by me bequeathed to my Daughter Ann I give and devise my
said Messuage Cottage or Tenement wherein I now dwell with
the Garden thereto belonging lying next to Hunt's House and
the Quick Hedge which divides the same from the Garden herein
before by me devised to my Son John to my Son George and
his Heirs But in Case he shall dye unmarried and without
Issue before he shall attain his Age of Twenty one Then I give
and devise my said last mentioned Messuage Cottage or

Tenement with the Appurtenances and Quick Hedge to my
said Son John his Heirs and Assigns for ever Subject as aforesaid
And also Subject to the Payment of Three Pounds of lawfull Money
of Great Britain to each of my said Three Daughters or such of them
as shall be living at the Time of the Decease of my said Son George
under the Age of Twenty one Years and unmarried and without
Issue Also I give and bequeath to my said Daughter Ann Five
Pounds when she shall attain her Age of Twenty one Years and
I charge the Hereditaments before devised to my Son George with
the Payment thereof I give to my Daughters Mary and Alice
All my Household Goods and Personal Estate equally to be
divided between them Subject to the Payment of my Debts and
Funeral Expences And I make my said Daughters Mary and
Alice ....... Executrixes of this my Will In Witness
whereof I the said George Cater the Testator have to this my Will
sett my Hand and Seal the Ninth - Day of March
in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and
Seventy Six ./.

Let aprobat be made to Mary the wife of Thomas Brookes (heretofore
Mary Cater) the surviving Executrix within named.
She being sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the will as that
the Testator's Goods Chattels and Credits do not amount in
value to the sum of Twenty pounds
