- I Henry Farr of Sturminster Newton Castle in the County of Dorsett Gent being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God but calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal life do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say Imprimis I give and bequeth unto the poor of the parish of Swanwhick twenty shilling to be disposed of in Bread for forty people and to be given St Johns day every year for twenty year after my decease Item I give unto the poor of the parish of Sturminster two pounds and ten shillings to be disposed of as my executor shall think fit Item I give unto my daughter Theophila the sume of four hundred pounds as an addition to and in further parte of her portion to be paid unto her and for her use within three years after my decease Item I give unto my daughter Anna four hundred pounds to be paid her in one month after my decease and six hundred pounds more as an addition to her portion to be paid unto my said daughter but if my said daughter Anna should happen to dye before she doe attaine the age of one and twenty or be marriedmy will is that the six hundred pounds shall be devided between my said daughter Theophila and my son John and likewise the four hundred pounds before by me given unto my daughter Anna or in case she do happen to dye and leave no issue then my will is that the four hundred pound be liewise devided between my daughter Theophila and my son John as for the copyhold estate which I shall have in the parish of Swanwick will be my wifes for her widowhood after my decease and it is my desire that my son John shall enjoy it during her widowhood paying her ten pounds a year free from all taxes and incumbrances whatsoever Item I give unto my wife soe long as she remaine a Widow the parler parler chamber the [garrat?] over the parler chamber and a part of that seller against the parler and use of the goods in the parler and parler chamber and the use of the tubs trendles and furnise as often as shell shall have occasion and likewise also one quarter part of the garden and one quarter part of the orchard all which belong to the dwelling house and backside which I now live in situate in Sturminster aforesaid I likewise give unto my wife all the goods which she had before her marriage and I likewise give unto my wife twenty shillings as a legacy Item I give unto my daughter Theophila and to my daughter Anna halfe my pewter half my linnen and half my silver spoons to be equally divided between them Item I give devise and bequeath all my messuages and hereditaments whatsoever lying and being in Bagber and Sturminster Newton Castle aforesaid or either of them (subject to the payment of fourteen hundred pounds before bereby by me given unto my son John Farr and to the heirs of the Body of the said John lawfully issuing and for want of such Issue I give and devise and bequeath the same and the Revertion and Revertions Remainder and Remainders thereof unto my two daughters Theophila and Anna lawfully issuing to them and their heirs for ever All the rest Residue and Remainder of my real and personall Estate whether consisting in stock ready money plate Rings Corne Graine Hay or otherwise howsover my debts legacies and funerall expences being first paid and discharged I give unto my son John Farr whom I make constitute and appoint whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament I do nominate and appoint Thomas Hill of Sturminster aforesaid and Nathaniel [-awler] of the same place and Robert Yeatman of Hinton St Mary to be Trustees to see this my will performed to which I give them a Guinea each in Witness whereof I have to this my Will sett my hand and seale published and declared the whole to be my last will and Testament this thirtieth day of October in the tenth year of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Brittaine France and Ireland King defender of the Faith xv Ann [ ] domini 1723 Hen Farr signed Sealed and declared by the said Henry Farr the Testator as and for his last will and Testamnent in the presence of Mary Lush Robert Bettin the mark of Charles Hutchings
