Will of Henry Hobart 1638

In the name of God Amen
The sixteenth daye of August in the yeare of our lord God 1638 in the fourteenth yeare of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King Charles by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland Defender of the faith. I Henry Hobart of South Pickenham in the countie of norfolk Esq. though sick in body yet thanks be to God of good & perfect memory revoking all former wills and Testaments doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following.
Imprimus I commend my soule in to the hands of Almightie God my Creator expecting to be made ....... of everlasting life through the only merrit of Jesus Christ my Saviour and I commend my body to the earth whereof it is made to be decntly and swiftly buried where it shall please my executor.
And for my wordly goods and chattells which God has given me I give & bequesth them as followeth.
First i give and bequeath unto my eldest brother Sir John Hobart knight and Baronet till such summes of money are behinde engaged and now due to me from him by reason of a certan annuitie of fifty pounds and such the said brother be fully expended and discharged of th payment of the said summes behind and engaged ...... of giving him ..... to any person whatsoever for or concerning the same.
Item I give unto my brother Mr Miles Hobart one hundred pounds to be payed unto him by my executor within one year next after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Mr Nathaniell Hobart one thousand pounds to be payed unto him by my deare mother the Lady Hobart out of those moneys that are due unto me from her at two or several payments by equal portions such five hundred pounds within six months next after my decease and other five hundred pounds within twelve months next after my decease and she to be ...... for the remainder to my executor.
Item i give nd bequeath unto my brother Captain James Hobart all my lands, grounds and .... ... I houlde by lease of the ....... now in the sole posession or occupation of Thomas Brooke or his assigns lyeing in Hosten St John and Hosten St Peter or elsewhere in the Countie of Norfolk. And all that my ..... in Hosten St John and Hosten St Peter aforesaid or other here in the said Countie of Norfolk now in the occupation of Josia ...... or his assigns during ..... my forme or formes in the same And also five hundred pounds to be payed unto him by my executor within three months next after my decease. Item I give unto my cozen Mrs by my executor, one hundred pounds in three months next after my decease Jane Ramsey two hundred pounds to be payed one hundred pounds within three months next after my decease anf the other hundred pounds within six months next after my decease.
Item I give unto my servant Richard March twentie pounds.
Item I constitute and ordaine my loving brother Sir John Hobart sole executor of this my last will and testament. In ..... whereof I have put to my hand and seale this day.................... of........ above written Henry Hobart, Jo Hawer, Edm, Eade and Wm Younger and their during all my termes not to come in the same...... before them sealing hereof Jo Hawer, Edm. Eade, Wm Yonger
