This is a transcript of the will of Hugh Lewis of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog, Denbighshire, Wales. His will was made on 1 March 1619/20 and was proved at Oswestry on 5 June 1620.

Transcript

In the Name of god Amen. 1619 I Hugh Lewis of the
p[ar]ishe of llanarmon Dyffryn keiriog and Dioces of St Asaph
beinge weake and feable in body but of good
memorie thancks be to god, Doe make this my last Will and
Testament in manner and forme followinge First I comend
my soule into the hands of thalightie god my maker
and Christ Jes[us] my redeemer, and I wishe my body to
be buried in Christian buriall in the Church or Church
yeard of llanarmon, Inprimis I Doe give and Leave
towards the repation of my p[ar]ish Church the sume of
five shillings. I leave and bequeath unto Moris my sonne
twoe shillings. I Leave also unto my Sonne Lewis
Tenne shillings unto Lowrie my Daughter three shillings
unto Jane his Children fure shillings all the f[o]rmer legacies
shalbe paied out of my rent Due at theanunciaton next the
rest I leave towards my funerall, unto Thomas ap Hugh
my sonn I leave and bequeath one greate brassen panne
I nominat and appoint my Daughter Gwen to be executrix
of this my last Will and Testament, all f[o]rmer wills I
Disanull and make of none effect. In Wittnes at the makinge
of this my last will beinge made the first Day of March in
the yeere of our Lord Above written. (the p[ar]ties under
named were prsent) Anno Regin Regis Jacobi […] Anglie
