Introduction
This is a transcription of the Last Will and Testament of James Tanner of 33 Monmouth Street, Bath, Undertaker, who died on 27 November 1909.[1]

Will Transcript
This is the Last Will and Testament of me James
Tanner of Number 33 Monmouth Street in the City of Bath Undertaker
and I hereby revoke all former Wills and Codicils by me made I
appoint my son James Tanner and my friend Joseph Goodwin
Edmonds to be Executors of this my Will I direct my Debts
Funeral and Testamentary expenses to be paid by them I give and
bequeath all my Furniture and Household effects to my Son George
Tanner and my stock in hand tools and other things appertaining to the
business now carried on by me to my Son James Tanner I bequeath
to my Executors the sum of Four hundred pounds and direct with this
sum they shall purchase an Immediate Life Annuity for the benefit
of my son George Tanner and shall give him any balance of this
amount for his immediate use _ _ I bequeath to my wife Matilda
Tanner the sum of Fifty pounds to my son William Tanner Fifty
pounds and to my daughters Eliza Louisa Dyer, Emily Woodrow,
Eva Fry and Mary Ann Savage Fifty pounds each to my Grand
daughter Norrie Bruce Tanner Twenty pounds to Joseph Goodwin
Edmonds in consideration of his acting as one of my Executors Ten
pounds I give devise and bequeath the residue of my estate of or to
which I shall be seized possessed of or entitled to to my aforesaid Son
James Tanner In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
this twenty first day of April One thousand nine hundred and nine
