In the name of God Amen the [blank space] day of the moneth of the yere of [Alm’te god ----] one thousand five hundred and viij’te I John Blowman of Estlache Machey in the count of Gloucester yeoman syche of body and hole of mynde make my last will and testament touching my lands and goods in ma’r and forme folowying And such of all I beseche mygod to take my soule to his mercye I do give to the church –xxs


I will and doe leve to John my sone and heyer my tennement mesusage or farme w’th the apprtenances called Do---sal l[Dowdehall] in the p’ishe of Cowlne (Coln St Aldwyn) also in the count’ of Gloucester wht all the lands therto belongying lyeing in [ ses ] and one tenement in [Hatherop?] & appertennances beinge p’cell of my man’ of Hathrop [wheirin Thomas Maior and Dorothye ] and all that my lands tenements and water [ ] in the countie of Bark and [ ] to the said John at and in the name of the thrydds Als of all my lands and tenenements and hereditaments
Item I do will grante and gyfte by this my last will my man’ of Hathrop wth th’appertenances and all my landes tenements and hereditaments my fat—aforesaid wth the devoraning of the grasse there [ ] and before as this my will appoyntes to William my second son and to the heyres males of his bodye lawfully begotten and for defaulte of suche Issue to Edward my third son and to his heyres males of his bodye lawfully begotten and for defaulte of such issue to Richard Blowmer my fourth sone and to the heures males of his bodye lawfully begotten and for default of such issue to the right heyres of me the said John


I do futhermore by this my last will and testament give and [ ] to Alice my wyff during her lyff my leases in possesson and [rever’con?] of the farme of Borthroppe [Esonwyse? ]And of Esthrop Martyn and the shypecroft? and shypes pasture called [Burthopp?] shyphowse w’th appurtennances and all the stock of cattle [ ] household stuff [b dye] and goods and cathlles whatsoer they be at Hatheropp and Esthrop Martyn aforesaid [ ][ ] to be bequeathed and devysed in considerac’on that she shall not any [thrydds] or [de ] [-ayme] or demande ryght of any lands or heredatiments aforesaid and after the decease of my said wyff I will that Richard my sonne and his [ ] devise[ ] of [ ] shall have and enyoie my saide leases of Esthrop and Hatheropp shiphowse for terme of the rest of the yeres to come and yf the same Richard my sone dye havying no sone then I give the residue of the said termes to Edward my sonne and yf he dye the to William my sonne yf any of the said terme of yeres then remayne and my will ys that my said wyff and sonnes shall putt in sureties to myne overseers they to do and p’form and [ ] that William my sonne shall not [ ][ ][ ] the said farm of Burthrop and Burtheroppe shepshowse I [ ] my said Man of Hathroppe aforsaid and do by this my will give hym all my stock of cowes cattelle and husbandrye there lying [ ]


I do give to any [ ] daughters before there other legacies [-alff] my woole of this yere and syxe [ ] shepe to be taken at Butroppe Also[ ] and the householde stuffe of Hathropp I will William to [ ] over p’te of [ ] and the householde stuffe of Hathroppe to be deviyded amongst my daughters And I do gyve Alicia and Margarete my daughters [number] shepe to be taken at Hathroppe at [----saledaye] I will that John my son shall assine Thomas Maior his copie holde wiche I have granted hym and I also forgive hym [ ] of the tenne poundes he oweythe me I do forgive [ Horton of xls] I forgive Thomas [ a orte ]of Longford ---ls I give William [ } xls and to my sister her [ ] rights To James Symonds vjl xiijs iiijd to William [ ] vjl xiijs iiijd to my syster Symonds xvjl xiijs iiijd to William [ ] xvij xiijs iiijd to Ursula S---- xvl to Robert Lapworth xvjl xiijs iiijd and the howse and tenemente that M ----- D------- my -----ppe w’th thappurtenances for terme of [ ] besiydes xvj xiijs iiijd given hym by Robert Lapworth his father.


I do make myne executores my wyff and William my sonne and I do make my syster Symonds and Thomas Watsey myne overseers I do give to the said Thomas xvjl xiijs iiijd for his labours all the use of my goodes I do will my said executors shall pay my debts
