In the name of god Amen I JOHN COLLET of naunton in the county of Glos. being in bodie sicke but of good and perfect remenbrance I thancke my god do make this my last will and testament in forme and maner folowing
first I bequeath my soule into the hands of almighty god my maker by whose mercy throughe the merits of Jesus christ I beleeve to be saved
my bodie I bequeath to be buried in the <blank>
my worldly goods I dispose & bequeath in maner folowing
First I bequeath unto SARAH my daughter the sume of an hundred pounds to be paid this spring next folowinge
Item I bequeath to HENRY my sonne an hundred pounds to be paid him at the spring come twelvemoneth
Item I bequeath another hundred pounds to ANTHONY my sonne to be paid him this time three yeares
Item I bequeath unto EDMUND my sonne a hundred pounds to be paid him {crossed out:when he shall be one and twenty yeares of age} this time six yeares
Also I bequeath unto ALICE my daughter an hundred pounds to be paid {crossed out: when she shall be twenty yeares of age} this time six yeares and yf it shall happen that any of my said children shall depart this life before they are possessed of this my bequest my will is that it shall be bestowed amongst the rest of my children aforenamed by even portions
Item I geve to henry my sonne a yoke of oxen to be delivered unto him at such time as mine overseers shall thincke good
Item I bequeath to every one of my other sonnes a yoke of oxen to be delivered unto them also at the discretion of mine overseers
The rest of my goodes unbequeathed I geve and bequeath to ELIZABETH my wife and JOHN my sonne
Also I geve & bequeath unto JULIAN A DEENE a yearling heyfer
Also I bequeath to every one of my kinsmen who are my godchild {godsonnes crossed out} a sheepe to all the rest of my godchildren I geve twelve pence a peece
Item I geve unto MARGARET my servant a sheepe
Also I geve unto Elizabeth my wife my house & yard land at nether slaughter the term of her life & after her <ink blot> ys that henry my sonn shall * it
Item to the poore of over slaughter iiis iiid Also I bequeath unto the parish church of naunton xs Also I bequeath to the poore of naunton ten shillings Item to the poore of nether slaughter ten shillings The rest of my goods unbequeathed I bequeath to Elizabeth my wife and John my sonne whom I make executors of this my will and testament

to be paid me at St Marys day in lent next

Item henry Roberts of Buckland oweth me fowre and twenty pounds to be paid on St marks day next

my will and desire is that my brothers Thomas and Anthony and my brother in law John Venfield shall be overseers of this my will and testament in witnes of the promisses I have put to my hand the fourth day of march 1604 and in the second yeare of the reigne of our sovereigne Lord James by the grace of god king of england scotland France and Ireland Defender of the faith etc.
