Will of John Davies of Llangadwaladr, Denbighshire

This is a transcript of the will of John Davies, farmer, of Pentre Ucha in the parish of Llangadwaladr in Denbighshire, Wales. His will was dated 20 January 1849/50 and was proved on 3 October 1850 in the Consistory Court of St Asaph.

Transcript

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Davies
of Pentre Ucha in the Parish of Llancadwalader in the County of
Denbigh Farmer which I make publish and declare in manner
and form following, That is [to] say, I give and bequeath unto my
beloved wife Elinor Davies during her natural life all my
estate and effects of what nature or kind soever, and
wheresoever the same shall be at the time of my death
and after the death of my present wife I give and bequeath
the same unto my Children in manner following I give
and bequeath unto ten of my children the sum of two
pounds each namely, Nathanael, Edward, Elizabeth,
David, Thomas, Richard, Evan, Ann Catharine Serah Davies

I also give and bequeath unto my two sons Richard & John Davies the
sum of ten pounds in trust for my Daughter Mary Davies to [be]
given to her in the way that they shall deem it most bene-
-ficial for her benefit. And as to all the rest residue and
remainder of all my estate and effects of what nature
or kind soever and where soever the same shall be at
the time of the death of my beloved Wife Elinor Davies
I give the same unto my son John Davies who also
I wish to carry on the Farming business with his
Mother during her lifetime. And I nominate and
appoint my beloved Wife Elinor Davies and my son
John Davies to be Executors of this my last Will and
Testament hereby revoking and making void all
former Wills by me at any time heretofore made
