KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That I, John Grant of the parish Brunswick and County of King George, for an in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and bear all my sons and daughters to wit: John Grant, Daniel Grant, George grant, William Grant, Elizabeth Bruce, Rosamond Wright, Margaret grant and Mary Grant. And for their future advancement in the world have given and granted and by these presents doth give and grant my said sons and daughters all and singular my estate both real and personal, reserving to myself the proper use and behoof of the same during my natural life, and after my decease to descend as follows wit: I give to my son John Grant all tract and parcel of land given to me by my father William Grant, and two negros to wit: John and Harry, together with feather bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever. I give to my sons Daniel Grant and George Grant all of the lands I hold in Prince William County to be equally divided between them together with a feather bed and furniture to each of them and their heirs forever. I give to my son William Grant all the lands I purchased of John Corbin and Stephan Hansford together with feather bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever. I give to my daughter Mary one negro girl Suce and her future increase together with a feather bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever. I give to my daughter Margaret one feather bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever. I give to my sons and daughters to wit: Daniel Grant, George Grant, William Grant, Elizabeth Bruce, Rosemond Wright, Margaret Grant and Mary Grant eight negros with their future increase to wit: Joe, David, Frank, Venous, Flora, Phillis, Dilla and Sellice to be equally divided between them and their heirs forever. I give all the rest and remainder of my estate of kind or quaility soever to my eight sons and daughters before mentioned and thier heirs forever to have and hold the said goods and chattle lands and tenements to my said children as aforesaid given and to thier heirs and assigns forever reserving myself the use of the same during my natural life as aforesaid in testimony whereof I hereunto set my seal and hand seventh day of July 1757
