Introduction

John Latch (of Hayes in Middlesex and the Middle Temple, London) had his will drawn up on the 2nd July 1659 and it was proved on the 28th July 1668.[1]

In the name of of God Amen I
John Latch of the Middle Temple London Esq hereof?
—- in Body yet notwithstanding thankees bee unto Almighty
God at this tyme in perfect sense and memory Doe ordaine
and make this my Last will and Testement in manner and
forme following, That is to say ) In the first place I Leave
my Spiritt in the hands of Almighty God the father of all
good? meritts? My body I leave to be dispossed as it shall please
my friends with whome I dye , And albeit I have not any
Worldly goods to dispose of worth the mentioning , yet for as
much as Long —- I together with my Sonne Thomas
Jenyns —- now deceased did enter into one Bond or obligation
of fower hundred pounds for the payment of 200 ^l and interest
at a day long since past unto my couson Mary Willoughby , which
money neither the said Thomas Jenyns in his life tyme
did pay nor I —- his Decease has bin? able to pay yet in
asmuch as I knowing? her extreame necesity and want have
hereunto? made shift to give her Ten pounds a year for her
maintenance which I intended to forever? to be payd unto her
as long as shee lives But Foreasmuch as I have not had any
opportunity to doe I doe therefore hereby give and bequeath
to her the said Mary Willoughby all —- My Bed Bed-
clothes Bedstead furnature and one Table , Fower
chaires and one Paire tunnse? and a Waynscoate Box with
—- And all my wearing Apparrell both woollen and
lynen And all other my goods and Chattles reall? and personall
whatsoever I give and bequath unto my sayd Cousen
Mary Willoughby all —- whome I doe hereby Constitute
Ordaine and make my full and sole Executrix of this my
Last Will and Testement In Witnesse whereof I have
Caused this to bee published and declared? to bee my Last will
and Testament accordingly John Latch (his signature)

John Latch Esq[ui]re revoking all former
Wills by mee made Doe Publish and Declare this as
my lastWill and Testament the Second Day of July
