In the Name of God Amen. I Raphe
Sneyde of Keele Hall in the parish of Keele in the countie of Stafford Esquire now weak
in bodie but of perfect memorie thanks to my good God, Do make and constitute this my
last Will and Testament in manner and forme following. Firstly I bequeathe
my soule into the hands of my glorious Creator and gracious Redeemer assuring my
self of the remission of my sinns and everlasting salvation through his blessed Death and
passion, renouncinig all confidence in my self and by a livelie faith ..... those
unto him and upon him only resting and relying. Item my Will is that my body may
have a decent interring in the Chancel of Wolstanton Church in the aforenamed county
Item I give to my five daughters to each of them five pounds ten shillings in ould
Gould Item I give to William Millar my servant fiftie pounds, Item I give to
Elizabeth Millar my servant and wife to William Millar fiftie pounds. Item I give to
Ralph Lawton my Grandchild and god sonne twenty pound to be put out to his use
in the hands of my daughter Clare his mother. Item I give to Ann Moore my wives neece
Thirtie pounds Item I give unto Richard Shelley my Chaplaine ten pounds Item I give
Ten pounds to be putt out to the use of the poor of the parish of Keele forever Item I
give to Ralph Sneyde my sonne and heire eight oxen, twelve kine and a Bull with all
down in
writeing and except all the barrells and three hogsheads which are my spirits also Item I
give to my sonnes William and Richard all the rest of my catle and sheepe equallie to
be divided betweene them Item I give Thomas Chemings my Bayliffe five pounds Item
I give William Deane my cooke five pounds Item I give Randoll Reeves my Buller fourtie
shillings and all the rest of my servants both men and women half a yeares wages
