In The name of God Amen.
The Third day of December Anno D[omi]ni One Thousand Six hundred Sea=
venty Eight And in the Thyrtieth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne
Lord Charles the Second Kind of England Scotland France and Ireland
Defender of the Faith &c I Robert Nevill of Islington in the County of
Middlesex Gentleman being weak and sick of Body but of sound mind
and perfect memory (All praise be to God) Doe make and ordaine this my last
will and Testament in manner and forme following (That is to say) First I
Com[m]end my soule into the hands of the Almighty God my Creator in firme hope
in and by the merits of Jesus Christ my onely Saviour to enjoy those Eternall
Blessings which God hath prepared for them that love him And my Body I
Com[m]itt to the Earth to be interred in an Evening in the South Quire of the
Church of the said Parish - - - of Islington in such decent manner as my Executor
hereafter named in his discretion shall think fitt And as touching and concerning
my worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to blesse me withall I bequeath and
dispose the same in manner and forme following (That is to say) Imprimis I
give to my welbeloved sonne Robert Nevill whom I have preferred for his
advancement beyond what can remaine to my other Children and to my Charge
above Seaven hundred pounds the sum[m]e of Twelve pence with which to
acquiesse and rest satisfied I charge him on my Blessing Item I give and
bequeath unto my welbeloved sonne Charles Nevill Fellow of Kings Colledge in
Cambridge All that my Mortgage or Estate which I have of or in the lands and
Tenements of Mathias Pitman deceased and the whole benefitt of such Mortgage
and proportion of my Estate as by the Custome of the Citty of London he may Clayme
Requiring my Executor to receive the Interest of the said Mortgage money and to
pay it to him as alsoe the said Mortgage money when it shall be Redeemed And to
Release the said Mortgage upon Receipt thereof unto the Executors of the said
Mathias Pitman And further I give and Release unto my said son Charles Nevill
the sum[m]e of Eighteene pounds and Fourteene shillings by him owing unto me upon
his note and Bill And alsoe bequeath unto him my Beaver Hatt and Blacke
Cloathes all my shirts and Great Bible with Marginall notes Item I will
and bequeath unto my welbeloved son Richard Nevill Fifty pounds and such
part and proporc[i]on of my Estate as he may Clayme by the Custome of the Citty of
London my Executor deducting thereout One Hundred Nynety one pounds seaven
shillings lent him upon his Note under his hand And Thirty pounds by Bill
paid Mr Ellis on his account And I bequeath to him alsoe my Camlett Stuffe and
Serge Coate Item I will and bequeath unto my welbeloved daughter Mary
Nevill such part and share of my Estate as she may Clayme by the Custome of the
Citty aforesaid And alsoe All those Two Severall Mortgages Estates or Interests that
I have of or in Respective Lands Tenements or hereditaments of Daniel Reddington
- of Langly Marsh in the County of Buckingham yeoman and George Lyon of
Woollitch in the County of Kent Potter Requesting my Executor as before in the
Case of my son Charles to receive the Interest of the moneys due on the Respective
Mortgages aforesaid in the behalfe of my said daughter Mary and to pay it her
as alsoe the said Mortgage moneys when they shall be Redeemed And to Release
Respectively

Respectively the said Mortgages upon the Respective Receipts thereof unto the
said Daniel Reddington and George Lyon their heires Executors and assignes
or such of them as in Equity and good Conscience are Entitled after the Mortgage
moneys paid to have and take benefitt thereof Item I will and bequeath unto my
welbeloved daughter Anne Nevill such part and proporc[i]on of my Estate as she
may Clayme by the Custome aforesaid And alsoe the sum[m]e of Three Hundred and
Twenty pounds over and besides Together with such housholdgoods and houshold
furniture as I now have and were her Mothers before my marrying her and
the Legacie that shall come to my said daughter Anne by this my will to be paid
before any other Legacie therein given Item I give and bequeath unto my said
daughters Mary and Anne aforesaid All my Plate Jewells And all and singular
the Rest and Residue of the Implements housholdstuffe and houshold furniture
and all other things whatsoever which I shall have remaining in my house
att the time of my decease (Ready money Gold writings Evidences and such
other things as before I have bequeathed onely Excepted) Item I give to the
poore of the parish of Islington aforesaid Three pounds to be distributed at the
discretion of my Executor Item I make and ordaine my loving Friend Mr
Andrew Kenricke Citizen and mercer of London my sole Executor in Trust of
this my last will and Testament And I give and bequeath to him Forty pounds
of lawfull money of England And I intreate my loving nephew Edward
Umphrevile of the Middle Temple London Esquire to be assistant to my Executor
for the gathering in of my debts it being best knowne to him where they lye
As alsoe for the Composeing all matters and setling peace and unity betweene
my Children And for his Friendly love and care therein to be taken I give him
Tenn pounds of like money The Rest and Residue of all and singular my Estate
If any be I give and bequeath unto and among my Children Richard
Charles and Mary equally to be devided amongst them and the Survivors of
them part and part like As alsoe That the porc[i]on and legacie of my said
daughter Anne Nevill she deceasing in her minority and being unmarried
shall descend and come to them and the Survivors of them part and part like
But if my Estate when gathered in doe or shall happen to fall short and shall
not amount to satisfy my Debts and Legacies My will is That in such case an
equall deduction shall be allowed and made out of the Legacies given to my son
and daughter Richard and Mary onely and not out of the parts of any of the rest
of my said Legatees any thing herein conteyned to the Contrary notwithstanding
Lastly I doe hereby Revoake and make utterly null and void all former and other
wills and Testaments by me appointed ordained or made declaring this present
Testament to be my true and last will In witnes whereof to this my last will
and Testament conteyned in Two Sheets of Paper I have Fixed my seale and to
each sheete have subscribed my Name and impressed my said seale the day and
yeare in the First sheete written ./ Memorandum that the Rasures in
the Five and Twentieth line of the First sheete and the First line of the Second sheete
were ordered and appointed by me the said Robert Nevill ^the Testatorthe Testator and that beside the Legacy
before given I bequeath theis following (That is to say) I give and bequeath ^unto
my Grandson Robert Nevill Twenty pounds and to Fleetwood Nevill and Charles
Nevill Two other Sonns of my son Robert Nevill And to Grace Anne Martha
and Alice daughters of my said son I give ten pounds a peice Requesting my
Loving Sonne in Law William White of London merchant into whose hands I will
and appoint the Legacies to be paid to improve the same to the best advantage he
can in the minority of my said Grandchildren And to pay it them with such
improvement Respectively at their severall ages of one and Twenty yeares

The part and share of such of them as shall happen to decease in their minority
To be shared among the Survivors part and part like And whereas I have
before in this sheete given to my daughters Mary and Anne my Plate Jewells hous=
holdstuffe houshold furniture and all other things in my house att my decease
(Except as therein excepted My will and meaning is that the said Legacie
shall be onely of such of those things as my Executor shall not dispose of for
the payment of my debts and my other Legacies which I doe hereby order and
appoint to be paid before it I ratifie and confirme all my other Legacies
In witnes whereof I have sett my hand and seale the day and year aforesaid and
to each sheete as aforesaid Robert Nevill ./ Sealed Subscribed published
and declared by the Testator Robert Nevill as and for his last will and testam[en]t
