Transcription
In the name of God Amen I William Hall of the Tything of West Hatton in the parish of Micheldever in the County of Southampton woodman being of sound & disposing mind & memory do make and ordain this my last will & testament in manner and form following that is to say I will that all my debts & funeral charges be paid & discharged by my ex[ecut]or & ex[ecu]trix hereinafter named
I give & bequeath to my niece Sarah How the wife of William How that house which I now live in with the garden & Woodhouse & every part of the premises now in my occupation to be held on by her or her husband if he remains a widower after his wifes death if not her children to have the rent of the house until the expiration of the lease also my best bedstead with furniture also the clock & range round oak table [?] Tallow barrel also the brewing copper and all the wrights & hales
I give to Joanna Collis the wife of Richard Collis the sum of £5
I give to my godson William Hall the son of my brother Henry Hall the sum of £5
I give to my godson William Hall the son of my brother Richard Hall the sum of £5
I give to my goddaughter Mary Hall the daughter of my brother Henry Hall the sum of £5
I give to my goddaughter Elizabeth Smith the daughter of Robert Smith the sum £5.
Also I give to William Hall the son of my brother James Hall my watch
Also I give to William Hall Junior my horse with saddle and bridle
I give to my brother and sister all the property that I shall shall be possessed of at the time of my decease (after all my debts & funeral expenses & legacies have been paid) that is to say that house & garden now in the occupation of David Collis all money out at interest and all book debts household furniture of all kinds wearing apparel and implements of all kinds wheresoever found except those legacies before mentioned and hereafter mentioned to be equally divided between them
My will is that my sister Elizabeths children shall have the share between them that would have been their mothers had she been now living,
I give to William Chamberlayne and Sarah How the sum of £5 each whom I constitute make & ordain my ex[ecut]or & ex[ecu]trix of this my last will & testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this twelfth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen William Hall (S: S:) signed sealed & published & pronounced by the said William Hall as his last William and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses John Ewens John Hobbs William Westbrook
Proved at London 4 March 1816, before the judge by the oaths of William Chamberlayne & Sarah How wife of William How the executors to whom admon was granted being first sworn duly to administer by [?]
