I Will[ia]m Stanborowe of Canons' Ashby in the
County of North[amp]ton yeoman calling to mynde the c[er]tainty of death & the uncertainty
of the tyme thereof I thought it good being in pe[r]fect helath I praise god for it
for to make this my last will & testam[en]t in this mann[er] & forme follwoing (that is to saye)
First my humane condic[i]on I doe attend that godwill & pleasure of god my maker
desiring I may be allwayes ready to be absolved & to be w[i]th Jesus Christ my
Redeemer through whose merritts & passion I doe undoubtedly trust to be saved &
as for my body I referr it to the discrec[i]on of my friends
Item I give &
bequeath unto my sonne Josias Stanborow & his heires that my house mesuage
or ten[emen]t conteyning 3 or 4 bayes of building w[i]th the garden or backside & the
app[urtenanc]es as they are now used scituate lyeing & being in the towne of Banbury
in the County of Oxford, on the south side of a streete called the Beastmarket
& now in the use & occupac[i]on of Wm Sanedge Stuffweav[er]
It[em] I give unto my
brother James Stanborow all my wearing app[ar]ell woollen & lynnen & xxs of
mony
It[em] I give unto my sonne in lawe Robert Raynsford & Mary his wife
& the heires of the said Mary the other house or Cottage conteyning 2 bayes of
building w[i]th the garden or backside & the app[urtenanc]es as they of Raph
are now used scituate lyeing & being in the towne of Banbury in the same County & adjoining to the
same house in the Beastmarket as aforsaid & now in the occupac[i]on of Raph
Laurence day labourer; my meaning is that my sonne in law Robert Rainsford
whome I make & ordaine executor of this my last will & testament I say that my
debtes being payed & all dues & legacies discharged, my will is that my sonne
Robert Rainsford shall have all that rest of my goodes what soev[er].

whereof I have hereunto set my nad & seale the xixth day of November 1642
