Surnames/tags: garrigues briggs Whereas William Garrigues of the City of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania House Carpenter, Son of Samuel Garrigues late of the said city Deceased and Mary his wife, and Hannah Briggs Daughter of Samuel Briggs and Mary his wife of Philadelphia aforesaid. having declared their Intentions of Marriage with each other before Several Monthly Meetings of the People Called Quakers held at Bank Meeting House in the the Northern District of the city of Philadelphia aforesaid. according to the good Order used amongst them, and having Consent of Parents and Friends concerned, their said proposals were allowed of by the said Meeting. NOW these are to Certify whom it may Concern that for the full Accomplishing their said Intentions this first Day of the fifth Month in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven. They the said William Garrigues and Hannah Briggs Appeared in a Public Meeting of the said People at their Meeting House aforesaid, and the said William Garrigues taking the said Hannah Briggs by the hand, did in a solemn manner openly declare. that he took her the said Hannah Briggs to be his Wife, promising through the Lord's Assistance to be unto her a Loving and Faithful Husband until Death should seperate them -- And then and there in the said Assembly the said Hannah Briggs did in like manner declare, that she took him the said William Garrigues to be her Husband promising through the Lord's Assistance to be unto him a Loving and Faithfull Wife until Death should seperate them. And moreover they the said William Garrigues and Hannah Briggs (she acording to the Custom of Marriage assuming the Name of her Husband) as a further confirmation thereof, did then and there to these pressents set their hands,
