In the Name of God Amen: I
William Umfrevile of Langham in the Countie of Essex Esqr the Eighth day of February
in the nyne and twentieth yeare of the reigne of Our Soveraigne Lord King Charles the
second over England &c Annoq[ue] Domini One thousand six hundred seventie six, doe
make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament, whereby after Commendation
of my Soul to Almightie God, and my Bodie to the Earth to be therein decently
buried, I dispose of my worldly Estate in maner following; First I will and desire
that all my debts be justly and duely paid, for which purpose, and for Provision for
my Children, and a competent Jointure for my deare wife by two severall Indentures
the one bearing Date the Day before, and the other bearing date the same day
with this my last Will and Testament, and both made betweene myselfe of the one
part and Samuell Gibbs of Stoke neare Nayland in the Countie of Suffolke esqr
Robert Maydson of Boxsted in the said Countie of Essex gent and Guilbert
[Urcom/Urcoin] of Cliffords Inne London gent of the other part, I have settled All my Mannours
Mills lands tenem[en]ts and hereditam[en]ts in the Countie of Essex and Suffolk, And I doe
hereby ratifie and confirme the said Indentures and the Settlement thereby made
And as for legacies and Disposition of my personall Estate, I referr the same to some
Codicill, which I shall hereafter make, which I hearby appoint to be parcell of this
my will; And all such of my said personall Estate as shall not be otherwise disposed
of by such Codicill I give and bequeath to my said wife Isabella Umfrevile after my
Funeralls shall be discharged, And of this my last Will and Testament I make
my said dear wife Isabella Umfrevile my sole Executrix: In witnesse whereof I
hereunto set my hand and seale the day and yeare first abovewritten :/ Wm

[Probate in Latin] Proved at London, Prerogative Court of Canterbury on 13 September 1679, with administration granted to Isabella Umfrevile, the relict and Executrix named in the Will.
