Another extremely useful site is www.rafcommands.com which has many researchers from all over the world using the forum. They are very quick to answer queries as a rule concerning allied aircrew.

Also at the moment the National Archives in the uk are letting you download digitised files for free. I have been downloading as many escape and evasion files as I am allowed. These are extremely useful documents, some are very detailed and contain interesting details of escape or evasion, some are rather brief. They contain rank, serial number and unit of the person, plus date of birth, peacetime occupation and address.

Hi,

I’ll find a link for a Dutch site that covers Operation Manna or as the Americans called in Operation Chowhound which were the food drops to The Hague during the war when the population were starving. A brief ceasefire was arranged and the crews flew in extremely low. My father was one of the aircrew that took part.

I've already been asked to remove my project from World History. My project/space is on the Blitz during WWII - concentrating on Cardiff. Is there anywhere this can be categorised? https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Cardiff_Blitz or do I leave it as it is?

Hi.

Just joined this site. My plans is to start a subgroup which will be focused on those who served as volunteers for Germany during WW-2. There was many of them........

IT WILL NOT INCLUDE MEMBERS FOR POLITICAL REASONS/MEANINGS. THIS IS HISTORICAL RESEARCH.

Hang on, and feel free to contact me.

Regards. Karl.
