Spaulding-2865 and Spalding-2033 appear to represent the same person because: The spelling of the surname should be SPALDING and not "Spaulding".

'Ann Spaulding' is the name found in the oldest sources. See 'Genealogy of the Jenkins Family of Maryland', p. 20. 'Thomas Jenkins to Ann Spaulding in 1669 at Saint Mary's'.

No, it is not; the name is recorded as "Spalding" in almost every primary source. "Genealogy of the Jenkins Family of Maryland" is an unreliable secondary source.

Please restore this womans biography, the whole of which you erased when once again abusively creating yet another profile for Ann Spaulding, and removing the old profile without consulting its managers. This is not how a surname is changed. The proper way is not to create a new profile, but to discuss with the managers of the profile any desired changes, and then, if agreed upon, to change the surname at birth. What you keep doing,- by twice detaching a profile from the husband's profile, deliberately creating two redundant profiles, and then completely erasing a profile long and hard-worked on biography replacing it with a basically empty one, - is a clear violation of Wikitree guidelines. This vandalism of a profile is uncalled for.
I created a new profile (the ORIGINAL profile, which YOU deleted by merge, had the surname spelt as "Spalding". You rejected the merge. This person is my direct ancestor; I have researched this line on and off for nearly 20 years and am probably somewhat more familiar with what constitutes a reliable source for these people and what doesn't than you are.

The surname on this profile should be SPALDING, not "Spaulding". "Genealogy of the Jenkins Family of Maryland" is largely a useless source, especially for the early generations, where it is entirely fictional.

Spaulding-2865 and Spalding-151 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate. Spelling is not consistent.
